Jordyn & James' small-town love story shines in this romantic winter wedding at Chapters on the Horizon. With thoughtful planning, elegant details, abundant greenery, and heartfelt moments, their celebration is filled with warmth, style, and personal touches.

Jordyn & James grew up in the same small town. While small towns are known for an "everybody knows everybody" atmosphere, their love story did not truly begin until young adulthood. Jordyn (equated) their first date as one of many Wisconsin couples--meeting up at the local bar!

Over the years, the couple created many traditions and memories together, tailgating for Badger Football games among their favorites. Six years after they began dating, James proposed in their favorite parking spot while they prepared for a big game. Jordyn reflected, "It was the most perfect October day and 100% a surprise just how he wanted it to be!"

The couple wanted to create a wedding day that was cozy, romantic, and relaxed. Scenic and beautiful, Chapters on the Horizon was the perfect venue for Jordyn & James' winter celebration. A mix of industrial charm and country elegance, Chapters on the Horizon boasts vaulted ceilings, abundant natural light, and plenty of photo opportunities, inside and out. The couple and their wedding party were also able to prepare on-site, without worry of weather or travel.

Sydney found her dream dress at Vera's House of Bridals: a deep-v illusion neckline, mermaid silhouetted gown covered in detailed lace and sparkles, cinched with silver beading at the waist. The skirt was a delicate tulle and lace overlay, trailing into a cathedral-length train. She also wore a tulle veil for the ceremony and for dreamy couple portraits.

Jordyn and James credit our very own WedPlan Winter Show and their planner, Skies the Limit Events, for helping them put together their vendor dream team. When it comes to planning advice, Jordyn wrote, "I will forever recommend a wedding planner to anyone planning a wedding! Destinee with Skies the Limit went above and beyond to be sure our day was absolutely perfect and not stressful at all!"

In addition to planning and coordination, Skies the Limit Events also provided bouquets, boutonnieres, and floral arrangements for the day, incorporating amaranthus, protea, eucalyptus, red and blush roses, blue thistle, and lush greenery.

The color palette for the day included black, white, winter neutrals, and burgundy. The wedding party wore all-black ensembles, with the bridal party choosing their own unique dress styles, and the groomsmen wore black suits, black undershirts, and black shoes, accessorized with pocket florals and black sequin bowties.

For a bit of contrast, James wore a dark forest-green suit, a black undershirt, and a green sequin tie from The Wedding Tree. He also accessorized with a floral pocket square, featuring white blooms and greenery.

Stationer BP Creationery helped set the tone for the celebration, starting with the invitation suite and continuing with coordinating stationery and signage pieces for the wedding day. The pieces were clean and modern, with a black and white color palette. Their ceremony program was a charming newspaper-inspired piece that detailed the day's schedule and other important information, such as the bus schedule, photo galleries, and a feature on the couple's beloved dogs.

Jordyn and James' indoor ceremony was framed by Chapters on the Horizon's grand entrance doors and surrounded by their loved ones. The couple did not have a first look, choosing that moment for the walk down the aisle, something they both agree made their ceremony more special and romantic.

In memory of his late mother, James walked down the aisle with a white rose, setting it in a front-row seat reserved for her.

Tara Draper Photography beautifully preserved every moment and detail of the day. She braved the cold several times, capturing warm and joyful couple and wedding party portraits despite the chill. She embraced the season, from overcast skies to light snow and bursts of light to frame authentic and artful moments for Jordyn and James. We especially love the veil movement!

At the reception, guests found their seats thanks to a custom seating chart from Carr Valley Cheese. They made fresh cheese curds (a Wisconsin staple, of course!) that morning, packaged them individually, and stickered them with the guest's name and table number.

Guests also enjoyed small bites and dinner catered by 4 Sisters Events, as well as cake and desserts from Cowboy David's Bakery.

Resource Vintage Rental provided a variety of furniture and décor pieces that set the ambiance across the venue. The head table was covered with glowing candles, crystal glassware, lanterns, and plentiful greenery, making it a vision of cozy elegance.

Reflecting on their wedding day, Jordy and James agree, "Our favorite moment was sitting down for dinner and soaking every bit in. We will always cherish that moment surrounded by our loved ones and just truly feeling so lucky to have found each other and getting to spend the rest of forever together."

The rest of the night was spent dancing to music provided by Rustic Memories Events, Sound, and Designs, taking photos in the photo booth, and wrapping up with dreamy couple portraits on the outdoor patio.
