Black tie weddings are often associated with tradition, but today's couples are redefining what formal can look like. Clean lines, sculpted silhouettes, contour-cut details, and lush décor in gold and white prove that luxury doesn't have to feel old-fashioned. This Modern Black Tie editorial, brought together by a talented team of local vendors, embraces the elegance of a classic black-tie affair while infusing it with modern artistry and personal style.
Truly Engaging set the tone with a custom stationery suite with a black, white, gold, and silver color palette. The suite featured a variety of contour-cut shapes, with a contrast between rounded and hard edges, along with vow books with a metallic finish. Fonts included an Art Deco-inspired title font paired with a classic serif for further details.

The bride wore a strapless, sweetheart-neckline dress from Charlotte's Bridal & Formal Wear, with brocade fabric, a structured corset waist, and pleated, A-line skirt. Styled by Maria secured her hair into a low, twisted updo with loose, textured, face-framing curls. The hairstyle was perfect for securing a cathedral-length veil with embroidered edges. Drop earrings from enVogue Bridal Accessories and a bridal ring from Modern Gents added the finishing touches to the bridal styling.

Also from Charlotte's Bridal & Formal Wear, the groom wore a classic black suit with a black button-down undershirt and a black bow tie. He was further accessorized by a floral boutonniere from Something Borrowed Blooms.
The florals were classic and monochromatic, with white roses and astrantia surrounded by ample greenery of eucalyptus, thistle, and grasses. A large installation spanned the length of the sweetheart table, which also featured a white table runner and white candles on gold candle holders.
Tableware included white plating with gold edges, smaller white plates with ornate gold edges, and vintage-inspired, gold silverware. The couple was seated in Resource Vintage Rental's Madison Twins Dining Chairs, a beautiful combination of comfort and style.
At the dessert table, Sweet Caeli's provided a towering, three-tier white cake with artful, ornamental piping.
In addition to the tablescape, Resource Vintage Rental provided a variety of additional rental pieces, from geometric black lanterns to seating, end tables, and a greenery champagne wall. One side of the greenery wall transformed into a photo booth with a neon sign, with the other side shelving for individual, unique crystal glassware tied with bows.
